No. 2, Del Mar, in its infinite wisdom, has moved first post to 1 p.m. for the rest of the meet. WHY???????

It’s funny Del Mar has been racing all these years with a 2 p.m. first post, except for special days like the Pacific Classic, but now all of a sudden it’s a problem? Please. One of my biggest pet peeves is race tracks move post time all over the place. Santa Anita is one of the worst and now Del Mar has joined the club. The worst part is if you look at today’s post times, Del Mar will have 35 minutes in between races. RIDICULOUS. If you wanna start early, end early, don’t try to keep people around until when it should have ended. This is a major mistake by the DMTC. I’m old enough to remember six-day weeks and 2 p.m. post times after Labor Day. There were no issues. OK, rant over.

Ok here’s the deal in this race: #6 HOME COOKING will be a huge favorite for Bob Baffert. She’s second time starter and a good work since her start. But #1 CURL GIRL is a first-timer from the Phil D’Amato and she has been working out in the mornings with CLASSICAL CAT, a colt, who beat Baffert’s $3.55 million dollar baby yesterday. Hate the post but gotta give her a shot.
