Tampa Bay Downs opinions for Sunday, March 15

Race 4: #6 Quiet Virtue (turf only) (5-1)

This is the longer price of two horses trainer Arnaud Delacour has in the race. This is a first-time starter out of Quiet American and out of the dam sire Theatrical, which is 16% with first-time turf. Delacour is 21% with first-timers overall.

Race 5: #3 Horn Buckle (3-1)

Trainer Jason DaCosta is 47% when going from sprint-route-sprint and that’s what this gelding is doing here. The 6-year-old has two wins from four tries on the Tampa main track and jockey Fernando De la Cruz stays aboard.

Tampa Bay Downs opinions for Saturday, Dec. 13

Race 3 – TB

#1 Be Nice Coach (turf only) (9-2)

Our Eyes: This 2-year-old tries grass and two turns for the first time, but he is bred to do both being out of a Theatrical mare on the bottom side. Trainer James DiVito is 25% with 2-year-olds.

Race 8 – TB

#7 More Zen Tea (5-2)

Our Eyes: Trainer Anthony Ferraro, who has won 23% of his races this year, ships this 6-year-old gelding down for the winter off two straight wins at Finger Lakes. The son of Roaring Fever has a win and a third over the track last year and gets leading jockey Gallardo for today’s race.
