==

SECOND RACE: 1. #6 Wheatfield (12-1), 2. Illuminant, 3. Luminary. LONG SHOT: Redheads Rule.

This filly passed a lot of horses in her debut at Los Alamitos and now trainer Marty Jones puts her on the turf. The sire Lone Star Special is 33% first time turf from a small sample and jockey Joe Talamo takes over.

==

FOURTH RACE: 1. #7 Daddy’s Duo (4-1), 2. Call to Congrats, 3. Radiant Journey. LONG SHOT: Pleasant as Pie.

This filly is a perfect 2-for-2 on dirt which maybe why trainer John Sadler claimed her for $80,000 at Del Mar. Sadler is 23% first off the claim and 21% going sprint-route-sprint.

Race 2: #1 Deciding Moment (3-1)

Trainer Rasharn Creque is 57% with horses running second time off a layoff. This 3-year-old came back running from a long layoff and Creque jumped in to claim him. JC Gomez keeps the mount in this likely speedster from the rail.

Race 9: #1 Little Nick V (turf only) (9-2)

Lots of first-time runners in this race, but we’ll stick with this son of Colonel John that finished third in his debut for trainer Carlos Vaccarezza. This colt is coming out of a race that has produced two winners so far. He pressed the pace early and tired late. Jeffrey Sanchez takes the mount.
