Santa Anita opinions for Friday, March 27

Race 1: #4 Believe Too

Trainer Brian Koriner won 22% of the time last year but is 0-for-17 this meet. He’s gotta break out and maybe this 4-year-old filly is the one. She needs to go back to her front-running ways in this spot. Koriner is 36% with horses off a 61-180-day layoff.

Race 8 – SA

#2 Vicious

Look who this 3-year-old has been losing to in the maiden ranks: Firing Line and Prospect Park. Do they ring a bell? Trainer Eoin Harty has gelded this son of Indian Charlie, drops him into a maiden claimer for the first time and tries turf for the first time with jockey Joe Talamo.

Tampa Bay Downs opinions for Saturday, Feb. 7

Race 9: #2 Caged (5-2)

This colt just missed breaking his maiden going 7 furlongs and now stretches out to a mile on the turf. Trainer Derek Ryan is 15% first time turf. Sire Indian Charlie is 11% first time turf and broodmare sire Storm Cat is 18%. Jockey Daniel Centeno has seven wins over the last seven days.

Race 11: #4 Eclipticalswildcat (5-1)

The 5-year-old has had no luck in his two Tampa races, getting checked in one race and stumbling at the start in the other. Has speed and trainer Robert Jeffries is good on the cut back in distance.

Trainer Michael McCarthy, a Todd Pletcher protégé, has shown a penchant for getting horses ready in their second start as he is 2-for-4 with those like LONGSTOCKING. He is also 25% with 2-year-olds and 5-for-15 sprinting. Jockey Mike Smith stays aboard. FANTASTIC STYLE has been training lights out for trainer Bob Baffert.

==

SIXTH RACE: 1. Soul Driver (BEST BET), 2. Daddy D T, 3. Bolo. LONG SHOT: Stormy Liberal.

SOUL DRIVER (12-1), a son of Street Boss, received an absolutely brutal ride last time from Tyler Baze. Full of run on the rail, Baze was stuck behind horses, finishing fifth, but past the wire he powerfully galloped out in front. Not in love with the post, but love the horse.

==

SEVENTH RACE: 1. Dancinthenightaway, 2. Sayes So, 3. Swiss Lake Yodeler. LONG SHOT: Big Break.

==

EIGHTH RACE: 1. Winning Rhythm, 2. Scooter Bird, 3. Diversy Harbor. LONG SHOT: Kathleen Rose.

==

NINTH RACE: 1. Vicious, 2. Cyrus Alexander, 3. Nob Hill. LONG SHOT: Ghost of Navigator.

VICIOUS, a son of Indian Charlie, gave an even effort while sprinting last time and should enjoy the run around two turns for trainer Eoin Harty. Comes out of the Firing Line maiden race at Del Mar and that one just lost to Dortmund.
