==

SEVENTH RACE: 1. Mark of a Gem (best bet), 2. J and S Express, 3. Always a Chance. LONG SHOT: Yawannagokid.

MARK OF A GEM, a 4-year-old filly, hasn’t raced since May 19, 2013, but she has speed and has been working well over the Santa Anita dirt. Trainer Tim Yakteen is 38% turf to dirt and he’s 36% with Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith.

==

EIGHTH RACE: 1. Los Borrachos, 2. Kozani, 3. Melatonin. LONG SHOT: J Kat.

Jockey Mike Smith is looking for the late daily double here with this son of Pulpit. The 3-year-old LOS BORRACHOS isn’t drawn ideally for a down-the-hill effort on the rail, but Pulpits seem to do well in the move from dirt to turf. He showed improvement in his second race and comes out of a maiden race where a horse he beat by 2 lengths (Hoppertunity) has already come back to win.

Jockey Kayla Stra has had a great Hollywood Park meet with limited opportunities and she scored on a bomber again on Friday. Here she picks up the mount on this 4-year-old filly ONE MAGICAL GIRL, trained by Northern California-based John Martin. However, this filly has won before at Hollywood Park and looks to do it again for a 28% winning trainer.

==

SIXTH RACE: 1. Moon Ride (best bet), 2. Miss Go Free, 3. Frannie’sspirttoo. LONG SHOT: Red Red Door.

Rafael Bejarano is trying to win another riding title and figures to be riding with zeal on the final day at Hollywood Park. Trainer Mike Puype puts blinkers on and drops this 3-year-old filly MOON RIDE to her lowest level ever looking to break her maiden.

Hollywood Park opinions for Friday, Dec. 6

Race 5: #4 Pretty Storm

This 2-year-old filly drops to her lowest level ever ($30,000 maiden claimer) and gets a huge jockey change from apprentice Irving Orozco to Joel Rosario. The daughter of Primal Storm has shown speed every time out and today should be no different.

==

Race 8: #11 Very Thankful

This race is a split of the fifth race and looks just as tough. This 2-year-old filly is by McCann’s Mojave, who unfortunately died earlier this fall. Right after his death, his horses have started to come around first time out. Trainer Jack Carava isn’t know as a first out winner or working well with 2-year-olds but he has done in the past. Plus he puts speed jockey Martin Pedroza aboard. Look for a send from the gate.

Hollywood Park picks for Sunday, Nov. 24

There is a $226,598 Pick 6 carryover heading into the final day of the race week.

FIRST RACE: 1. Dunmore East, 2. Macias, 3. Afleet Cowboy. LONG SHOT: Da Ruler.

==

SECOND RACE: 1. No Tricks for Jack, 2. Addendum, 3. Rossi Reserve. LONG SHOT: Firendesire.

==

THIRD RACE: 1. Need You Now, 2. Include the Aussie, 3. Judy In Disquise. LONG SHOT: Joeandbetty’sbaby.

==

FOURTH RACE: 1. Indianapolis, 2. Ian Street, 3. Cherubim. LONG SHOT: Frosted Boss.

==

FIFTH RACE: 1. Swiss Bliss, 2. Jeanne Marini, 3. Wink and Wish. LONG SHOT: Gabbiano.

==

SIXTH RACE: 1. Kozani, 2. Nooten, 3. My Secret Affair. LONG SHOT: Bullwhip.

==

SEVENTH RACE: 1. Rousing Sermon, 2. Maybe Tuesday, 3. Cyclometer. LONG SHOT: Spirit Rules.

==

EIGHTH RACE: 1. Luxuriance, 2. Always a Chance, 3. Promiscuoussuances. LONG SHOT: Warren’s Rosebud.

LUXURIANCE, a 4-year-old filly, is coming off her best finish (second over this course) in a long time. She ran that against open claimers and now drops into a Cal-bred allowance race. She has never been worse than third sprinting on this turf course.

==

NINTH RACE: 1. Sugar High Kaylin, 2. Winninginfashion, 3. Secret Memo. LONG SHOT: Amanda.

We’re at the bottom of the barrel here with $20,000 maiden claiming fillies and SUGAR HIGH KAYLIN, a 3-year-old daughter of Candy Ride, cost $100,000 at auction so she must have shown something. Her works aren’t half bad for this level and her first time out. Plus appears to be owned by trainer Doug O’Neill and his brother, Dennis. The rest of this field hasn’t shown much so either this one will win for fun or run way up the track. Let’s hope for the former.
