Los Alamitos Race Course opinions for Friday, Sept. 12

Race 1: #1 Ninnavee (6-1)

This 3-year-old filly has the top last race Beyer Speed Figure, granted it was at Ferndale, but trainer Quinn Howey ships down and expects this one to go straight to the lead from the rail. Felipe Martinez jumps on for the mount.

Race 3: #6 Tribal Mystery Man (7-2)

Trainer Robertino Diodoro does well in the lower maiden claiming and claiming ranks. He won at LRC with tow of his first three starters. This 3-year-old gelding had a ton of trouble in his last race at Del Mar, throw it out and he’s among the favorites. Barn rider Fernando Perez keeps the mount.

Los Alamitos Race Course opinions for Thursday, Sept. 11

Race 2: #2 Faster Cat (3-1)

Trainer Quinn Howey does is a 25% trainer, mostly on the Northern California fair circuit. He brings this gelding down to So Cal off a big win at Ferndale. This 6-year-old has won over the surface before and should be right in the thick of it.

Race 3: #4 Power Crazed (7-5)

This 3-year-old Empire Maker colt cost $275,000 at auction and he’s bred to love the dirt. Made his debut for trainer Bob Baffert over the Polytrack at Del Mar and finished sixth, making up a lot of ground in the stretch. Now he’s on his preferred surface, has a good work over the track and barn rider Martin Garcia jumps on. Might be a Pick 5 and Pick 6 single.

==

Race 5: #7 Goofy Rainbow (6-1)

Trainer Paul Jones is one of the top, if not the best, quarterhorse trainer in the country and he tries his luck with this thoroughbred. A daughter of Idiot Proof, she has been training well over the surface and Jones is 38% with jockey Vinnie Bednar.
