Los Alamitos (plus a few others) opinions for Sunday, July 12

Race 4: #8 Relative Time (5-2)

This gelding drops to his lowest level ever in the maiden claiming ranks for trainer Clifford Sise, who is 2-for-4 with horses going tuf to dirt. Jockey Tyler Baze jumps on this 4-year-old.

Race 5: #3 Tester (7-2)

This gelding is on a two-race winning streak for trainer Phil D’Amato, who is 26% with horses off this kind of layoff. Jockey Tiago Pereira is 28% with D’Amato.

Race 7: #4 Dissension (3-1)

We’re sticking with the Phil D’Amato-Tiago Pereira train today. This mare was claimed last time out and D’Amato is 23% first off the claim. He is also 26% going sprint to route. Think the barn is ready to go on another hot streak.

Race 5: #2 Run to Mama (15-1)

Our Eyes:  This mare has three lifetime victories, all on the turf and two of them over this course. She returns to facing New York breds and drops in for a tag for the first time. Maybe that will wake her up.

Race 4: #1 Feelingbettertoday (turf only) (7-2)

Throw out that last race on the dirt as this mare wants turf only. Trainer Peter Walder is 38% second off the claim and 26% second off the layoff. This 6-year-old will be tighter today and apprentice jockey Tyler Gaffalione takes over.

Race 8: #3 Simplistic (6-1)

This mare is 1-for-1 over the course and is up in class over that victory. Trainer Rasharn Creque has the magic touch with turf horses as he is 35% from 26 starters on the green stuff. Jockey Arny Fontanez keeps the mount for this speedball.
