Del Mar opinions for Friday, Aug. 3

FIRST RACE: 1. Will Tell, 2. R Cha Cha, 3. Lucky Staxx. LONG SHOT: We Go Now.

SECOND RACE: 1. Chloe Belle, 2. Family Girl, 3. Powder. LONG SHOT: Discatsonthesquare.

THIRD RACE: 1. Trophy Bridle, 2. Sunday Prophet, 3. Himmah. LONG SHOT: Turing Machine.

FOURTH RACE: 1. Honeymoonz Over, 2. Giddymeister, 3. Captivate. LONG SHOT: From the Distance.

FIFTH RACE: 1. Mo See Cal, 2. Our Slick Chick, 3. Spectacular Move. LONG SHOT: Super Patriot.

SIXTH RACE: 1. Silken Prince, 2. Leadville, 3. Starring John Wain. LONG SHOT: Three Ay Em.
As you know by now, I’m a big fan of trainer William E. Morey. He had a first-timer on Wednesday run well after a slow start to finish third. In today’s sixth race, he has another first-time starter in Silken Prince (5-1) with a big last workout showing. Morey is 19 percent with first-time starters and the sire Kafwain gets 10 percent winner first out.

SEVENTH RACE: 1. OUT OF THE FLAMES (best bet), 2. Spellker, 3. Okinawa. LONG SHOT: Phantom Proton.

EIGHTH RACE: 1. Breathless Charm, 2. Majestic Authority, 3. Scurry. LONG SHOT: Peachy.

THURSDAY’S RESULTS

Top choice winners: 1 (Majestic Design $7, second race)

Second choice winners: 1 (Raindance Rules $8.60, sixth)

Third choice winners: 2 (Lovely Raquel $17, fourth; Eddie Haskell $9.80, seventh)

Long shot winners: 0

Good luck.
