There was a time when trainer John Sadler was money off long layoffs, but he is now one for his last 29. Let’s hope it’s 2 for 30. This filly is dropping in class and comes out of a key race at Del Mar last year that was produced five next out winners.

This filly makes her debut down the hill and has been throwing bullets in the morning. Leading jockey Flavien Prat has seen enough to take the mount. That’s good enough for me.

#5 Elwood J (6-1) TURF ONLY ****
We know jockey Mike Smith only rides when he wants to and he takes this mount for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer (28% with Smith). Has speed and the price is right.
