Preview: Hope some of you played Farhaan on Saturday in the stakes win.
Race 2 – SA
#7 Into Rissa (6-1) ***
Our Eyes: The 2-year-olds run in their first race of the year and one thing I’ve noticed over the years is that Terry Lovinger always likes his horses ready early. He is is either breeder or owner on a lot of Cal breds. This one is trained by Mike Harrington. There is another Lovinger horse in SHOW IT N MOE IT so I would say an exacta box is in order.
Jeff’s Playbook: 3 units to win, 5 units to place and 6 units to show. EXBX 7-5.
Race 6 – SA
#4 Call the Queen (3-1) ****
Our Eyes: This filly showed speed against MSW types last year and drops into a maiden claimer for the first time. Trainer Jaime Gomez is 2-for-3 with horses off a layoff of 90-plus days.
Jeff’s Playbook: 4 units to win, 5 units to place and 6 units to show.
Race 8 – SA
#9 Kona Dreams (7-2) TURF ONLY ****
Our Eyes: This gelding has been a disappointment and drops into a maiden claimer for the first time. Rafael Bejarano almost rode him to victory in his career debut and reunites with him today.
Jeff’s Playbook: 4 units to win, 5 units to place and 6 units to show.
Good luck.
