Horse racing, Tampa Bay Downs

Tampa Bay Downs opinions Wednesday, Jan. 4

Preview: Jockey Albin Jimenez left the colony on Saturday for Turfway Park, even though he had a ride that day on an eventual stakes. winner.
Pinhead or homesick? You make the call. Horses making their second and third starts over the surface are starting to dominate, but Laurel horses aren’t to be ignored.

Race 1 – Tam
#3 Vineyard Storm (4-1) ****
Our Eyes: Just missed at this level last time out and about time for trainer Kathleen O’Connell to get hot. Has plenty of early speed.
Jeff’s Playbook: 4 units to win, 5 units to place and 6 units to show.

Race 2 – Tam
#7 Oatfield (5-2) *****
Our Eyes: Has been running on the Kentucky circuit. Trainer Jordan Blair is 28% with shippers and 23% with horses off a 46 to 90-day layoff. Has the best late pace rating from Brisnet and leading jockey Daniel Centeno rides.
Jeff’s Playbook: 5 units to win and 10 units to place.

Race 5 – Tam
#8 Tacky Diamonds (4-1) ****
Our Eyes: Trainer Darien Rodriguez is 33% with horses second off the layoff. He has the top Early Pace Rating and jockey Pablo Morales is 31% with Rodriguez.
Jeff’s Playbook: 4 units to win, 5 units to place and 6 units to show.

Race 9 – Tam
#8 Su Su’s Kitten (3-1) ****
Our Eyes: Closed like a freight train in the lane and now comes back at a lower level. Fernando De la Cruz knows the filly and should get a better trip here.
Jeff’s Playbook: 4 units to win, 5 units to place and 6 units to show.

Good luck.
