Del Mar picks for Sunday, November 20

Preview: Jockey Flavien Prat and Martin Pedroza will be back to ride on Sunday after spending Saturday at Delta Downs. Jockey Kent Desormeaux will be riding in New Mexico today and will miss the card. The turf rails remain at 24 feet. There is a chance of rain today, but it appears they will get the card in as the greatest chance of rain begins at 7 p.m.

Race 1: 1. #5 Queenofthecastle (4-1) SCRATCHED, 2. Avicii, 3. Zuzu’s Petals. LONG SHOT: Ryderroo. New picks: 1. Avicii, 2. Fillie on Fire, 3. Zuzu’s Petals. LONG SHOT: Ryderoo.
This filly is moving up in class, but she is coming off a good win at Santa Anita. She has a win over the track last year. Drayden Van Dyke rides back and figures to come running in the lane since the 4-year-old has the top late pace rating by Brisnet.

Race 2: 1. Radio Silent, 2. Que Chistoso, 3. Lamu. LONG SHOT: Unbridled Rocket.

Race 3: 1. #5 Divine Spark (5-2) BEST BET, 2. Sircat Sally, 3. Veiled Heat. LONG SHOT: Radish.
Unless the Jerry Hollendorfer first-timer (Sircat Sally) can run, this filly trained by Bob Baffert looks like an easy winner against the Cal-bred field. She showed speed last time out and tired while finishing third. She cuts back a half-furlong and Baffert is 22% with second-time starters. Martin Garcia keeps the mount.

Race 4: 1. Run Like the Boss, 2. Algorhythmic, 3. Pied N True. LONG SHOT: Irish and Lucky.

Race 5: 1. Ucanthankmelater, 2. Lyrical Passage, 3. T. ontana. LONG SHOT: Thirty Pepperonis.

Race 6: 1. Spanis Hombre, 2. Moe Candy, 3. Well Measured. LONG SHOT: Top Fortitude.

Race 7: 1. #1 Bolitar (6-1), 2. Fin de Semaine, 3. Unapologetic. LONG SHOT: Handful of Stripes.
This 3-year-old is going around two turns for the first time and he is bred top and bottom to do that. He has the top Prime and Class Ratings from Brisnet plus more importantly the top late pace rating. Jockey Flavien Prat jumps off for the morning-line favorite, but no worries as Norberto Arrroyo Jr. has ridden this son of Harlan’s Holiday in the past and knows him well plus Arroyo rode the Del Mar turf well at the summer meet.

Race 8: 1. Solid Wager, 2. Gold Rush Dancer, 3. Acceptance. LONG SHOT: Image of Joplin.

Race 9: 1. Shezroxiie, 2. Sugary, 3. Special Gal. LONG SHOT: Sassy Ashley.

Good luck.
