Santa Anita opinions for Thursday, Oct. 27

Preview: Like we surmised last week, jockey Rafael Bejarano was due to get get and he did, taking over the lead in the riding standings. Surprisingly, he is also leading all jockeys in turf winners with 8 (from 42 mounts). He is followed by Flavien Prat (6-34) and Tyler Baze (5-29). Those having a tough time on the green stuff are Santiago Gonzalez 1-for-27, Victor Espinoza (1-20) and Jamie Theriot (1-18).

Race 4: #5 You’re the Reason (9-2)
Trainer Craig Dollase has taken over all the horse for owner Ruis Racing LLC as father Mick too the horses away from daughter/trainer Shelbe. Dollase starts this filly here going first time around two turns with blinkers on (33% first time) and first route (20%).

Race 7: #4 Molly’s Honour (3-1)
This mare just missed last time at this level for jockey Flavien Prat. She showed a nice closing kick and also has good early speed when she needs it. Prat is 24% with trainer Jack Carava.

Race 8: #9 If You Believe (5-2)
This filly showed 7 furlongs isn’t her cup of tea at Del Mar so trainer Mark Glatt shortens her up and she might have this group over a barrel. Jockey Norberto Arroyo is 2-for-6 with Glatt.
