Santa Anita opintions for Sunday, June 19

Preview: Last day of grass racing until Del Mar and first post is noon due to expected temperatures near 100 degrees..

Race 1 – SA
#1 New Summit (7-2)
Our Eyes: This gelding has never won going two turns but maybe he is stronger to do so at this age.He has good early speed and the top Brisnet Prime and Class ratings. Jockey Tyler Baze gets the mount back for trainer Ted West. They are a 15% combination.

Race 6 – SA
#1 Cover Song (7-2)
Our Eyes: This filly broke her maiden last time out going down the hill and she should absolutely love the stretchout here. Trainer Carla Gaines is 18% second time off the layoff and 33% with jockey Flavien Prat. The sire Fastnet Rock gets winners that average 8.4 furlongs.

Race 9 – SA
#5 Cheap O Charlie (6-1)
Our Eyes: Trainer Paul Aguirre and jockey Iggy Puglisi are a potent combination over the years and for whatever reason they seem to win the last race of the day a lot. This gelding is cutting back from a route to a sprint, a move Aguirre is 22% with. On top of that the 4-year-old has the top Brisnet Prime and Class ratings.
