Preview: So not a good start to the week on Thursday. Hopefully we do better Friday. Not a bad weekday card. During the first week of racing, trainer John Sadler, Phil D’Amato and Mark Glatt all recorded three wins each. The Sadler barn has struggled over the last year or so and might be coming out of a prolonged slump.
Race 1 – SA
#1 Proud ‘n’ Ready (3-1): This filly gets a huge jockey change to Rafael Bejarano and he is 27% with trainer Peter Eurton, who is 43% when dropping a horse from MSW ranks into a maiden claimer for the first time.
Race 4 – SA
#6 Born to Serve (5-2): Trainer Jonathan Wong is 50% when moving a horse from a route to a sprint. This gelding has a good work over the track and has won here before. Also key jock switch from Brice Blanc to Edwin Maldonado.
Race 8 – SA
#2 Doodetta (3-1) (turf only): This mare has a 6-2-1-2 record down the hill. Trainer Peter Miller claimed her last time and gave her a break. Miller is 53% when dropping a horse off the claim and he’s 35% first off the claim. Jockey Rafael Bejarano sticks around and he’s 3-for-10 with Miller at Santa Anita.
