Horse racing, Santa Anita

Santa Anita opinions for Thursday, Jan. 7

Preview: Santa Anita management looked into the future and didn’t card any turf races with all of the rain in the forecast. Therefore, card isn’t very good, but there is a two-day Pick 6 carryover to go after so look up up those sire ratings and Tomlinson numbers for a wet track. Santa Anita has announced no turf racing through Saturday and with more race forecast for that day don’t look for turf racing on Sunday.

Race 3: #1 Bolt Up (3-1)

Finished second in her last start over a track with some moisture in it. Has speed and trainer Jonathan Wong second off the claim plus red hot jockey Santiago Gonzalez stays aboard. –

Race 7: #14 West Coast Storm (6-1)

Trainer Richard Baltas has been on a roll since the meet started so he has good numbers across the board. Comebacking jockey Agapito Delgadillo rides the 5-year-old mare, which has a win over the track on her record and has a good Tomlinson number for a wet track.
