Tampa Bay Downs opinions for Sunday, Dec. 27

Preview: Trainers Gerald Bennett and Jamie Ness have hit the accelerator and are atop the standings, but it’s tough to get prices on them, especially Ness. Today’s card is a little short on numbers, but the turf races figure to be full.

Race 6: #4 Cohasset (turf only) (12-1)

Trainer Kathleen O’Connell has been picking up momentum as the meet has gone on with five wins and here she puts this 2-year-old filly on the turf for the first time. The daughter of Desert Party is coming out of a Gulfstream Park West race that has produced four winners from seven next out starters.

Race 8: #7 Classic Blaze (turf only) (6-1)

Trainer Victor Carrasco Jr. claimed this 3-year-old last time out and keeps him at the same level. Carrasco is 30% first off the claim.

==

Race 10: #4 Tiger D (turf only) (6-1)

Trainer Arnaud Delacour is starting to improve that winning percentage after a slow start and he puts his main man, Daniel Centeno, on this gelding that owns a win over the Tampa green.
