Gulfstream Park West, Horse racing, Santa Anita

Santa Anita early opinions for Thursday, Oct. 15 (Plus Gulfstream Park West)

Race 5: #3 Bijoux (9-2)

Trainer John Sadler is 7-for-12 when dropping a horse from the MSW ranks to a maiden claimer for the first time. This 4-year-old has been away for more than a year but Sadler wouldn’t run her here if she wasn’t ready.

Race 8: #12 Kiana’s Dream (6-1)

Trainer Ricky Agarie drops this 3-year-old to her lowest level ever and if she runs back to her September race at Del Mar, she will win this race. Good gate rider Edwin Maldonado takes over so look for better speed than her last.

Gulfstream Park West

Race 7: #7 Street Rage (5-1)

This 3-year-old moved up in class and fell flat on his face, but trainer Michael Petro brings him back at the same level looking for improvement. Petro is 37% with beaten favorites and jockey Edgard Zayas stays aboard and he is 18% with Petro.

Race 9: #3 Bon Accord (4-1)

This 4-year-old is moving up in class off a wire-to-wire victory at GP. In his one try at GPW, he was a winner and trainer Gilberto Zerpa is 41% with horses off a win in the claiming ranks.
