FIRST RACE: 1. Curlin Iron, 2. Kings Adventure, 3. Silver Torch. LONG SHOT: Dragon Attack.
CURLIN IRON (8-1), a 3-year-old colt, was entered in a maiden claiming $20K earlier in the meet but was scratched when he drew the No. 1 post. Now he draws the outside and trainer Bill Spawr is a surprising 2-for-5 with first-timers at Del Mar the last three years. KINGS ADVENTURE showed high speed in a maiden special weight race and will be tough to beat.
