Horse racing, Santa Anita

Santa Anita picks for Friday, Jan. 10 (updated)

FIRST RACE: 1. She’s a Go Girl, 2. Coco de Carchy, 3. J K’s Mischief (SCRATCHED). LONG SHOT: Firendesire.

SECOND RACE: 1. Dreamnofatticus, 2. Pressure Time, 3. Odin. LONG SHOT: Atascaderan.

THIRD RACE: 1. Water Issues, 2. Stole a Kiss, 3. Tom Kha. LONG SHOT: Lady of the Nile.

WATER ISSUES, a 3-year-old filly, ran against the boys last time and finished second to Harbaugh. She now returns to against her own sex and jockey Corey Nakatani stays aboard.

FOURTH RACE: 1. Whipstock, 2. Judge Carr, 3. Di Conti. LONG SHOT: Bob Consultation.

That was a big last work by WHIPSTOCK. Watch out.

FIFTH RACE: 1. Jet Warrior (best bet), 2. Midnight Casanova, 3. Warren’s T. Baze. LONG SHOT: I Buy Gold.

Despite a slow break, JET WARRIOR, a 4-year-old gelding, broke his maiden at irst asking last May at Hollywood Park. He returns here making his turf debut going down the hill for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, who is 32% with horses off a layoff of more than 180 days. Jockey Rafael Bejarano keeps the mount and he is 48% with King Jerry at Santa Anita the last two years.

SIXTH RACE: 1. Citron Kid, 2. Rob’s Pal, 3. Pot Roast. LONG SHOT: Indygo Andy.

POT ROAST is an interesting horse because it it is owned by trainer Tom Proctor and has a couple of decent works.

SEVENTH RACE: 1. Level Headed, 2. Warren’s Flasher, 3. Changethechannel. LONG SHOT: Sweet Tess.

EIGHTH RACE: 1. Warrens Puppy Love, 2. Tim’s Go Girl, 3. Jogget. LONG SHOT: Jenneral With a J.

Check to see if WARRENS PUPPY LOVE comes out with blinkers. If so, it might be “go” time. TIM’S GO GIRL has some interesting works.
