FIRST RACE: 1. Distant Image, 2. Koko Loca, 3. Love Tale. LONG SHOT: Speedi Mouse.
DISTANT IMAGE showed speed last time and takes a drop in class. Trainer Vladimir Cerin takes the blinkers off and he’s 42 percent with that move.
SECOND RACE: 1. Raja’s Rose, 2. Swiss Sugar, 3. Patty Wack. LONG SHOT: Inherit the Throne.
RAJA’S ROSE had a ton of trouble in her last start and still finished fourth. She moves up into open company, but there aren’t any world beaters in here.
THIRD RACE: 1. Luxuriance, 2. Brilliant Melody, 3. Atta Girl Alma. LONG SHOT: Nava Nataly.
LUXURIANCE showed high speed last time going longer at Hollywood Park so this 5-furlong race should hit her right between the eyes.
FOURTH RACE: 1. Rolanda, 2. Akiss Forarose, 3. Awe’Some Kitten. LONG SHOT: Tebowing.
ROLANDA got out of the gate slow last time but finished just 2 lengths behind the winner. Trainer John Sadler moves her to the Polytrack and keeps the services of jockey Rafael Bejarano.
FIFTH RACE: 1. Diamond Bachelor, 2. Bourne Hot, 3. Oso Smart. LONG SHOT: Be You.
DIAMOND BACHELOR is by War Front, who is turning into a top class grass sire. Here’s hoping jockey Julien Leparoux doesn’t take him too far back in the colt’s first start.
SIXTH RACE: 1. Swiss Bliss, 2. Justalittleloopy, 3. Joyce and Me. LONG SHOT: Sydney’s Darling.
SWISS BLISS was overmatched in the Fleet Treat Stakes. She drops back in with claimers and could be spotted for an upset.
SEVENTH RACE: 1. Miss Ellany, 2. Hard to Resist, 3. Candrea. LONG SHOT: Dancingtothestars.
MISS ELLANY loves to go to the front in her races and she is undefeated since jockey Edwin Maldonado took over.
EIGHTH RACE: 1. PERFECT JERSEY (best bet), 2. Chocolatier, 3. Bardy. LONG SHOT: Neil Healy.
CHOCOLATIER is the one to beat here, but can’t help feeling trainer Tim McCanna is trying to put one over in this spot. McCanna made a name for himself in the Northwest and is trying Southern California now. He has one upset at the meet. PERFECT JERSEY is dropping to the bottom of the maiden claiming ranks. He got a feel of the Polytrack in his last and now goes around two turns. His grass races at Golden Gate aren’t half bad, so we know he can get the distance.
