Del Mar picks for Wednesday, July 31

FIRST RACE: 1. Afleet Cowboy, 2. Domonation, 3. Love That Action. LONG SHOT: It Doesn’t Add Up.

AFLEET COWBOY takes a drop in class for trainer Bill Spawr. He has finished in the money 4-of-5 races at this distance.

SECOND RACE: 1. Little Bit Cactus, 2. Cravin’ the Heat, 3. Rsweet Serendipity. LONG SHOT: Jen’s Hot.

LITTLE BIT CACTUS has been in the money in 6-of-8 races at Turf Paradise, but still hasn’t broken her maiden. She goes to the barn of trainer Jeff Mullins and leading rider Rafael Bejarano jumps aboard.

THIRD RACE: 1. Spring Up, 2. Solid South, 3. Awesome Address. LONG SHOT: Magnum Force.

SPRING UP just won over the track and was claimed by trainer John Sadler, who is very good first off the claim. This colt has speed and that works well on this track so far at the meet.

FOURTH RACE: 1. Hurry Home Clover, 2. Lite That Baby Up, 3. Jay’s Firetruck. LONG SHOT: Chico Suerte.

HURRY HOME CLOVER is first off the claim for Spawr, who is another trainer who does with this move. The gelding has speed and he’s drawn inside.

FIFTH RACE: 1. RED GLOBE (best bet), 2. Awesome Okee, 3. Volkonsky. LONG SHOT: All Star Bell.

RED GLOBE drops in class from a straight maiden race to Cal-bred maidens. He was third in his last and has trouble getting out of the starting gate in a timely manner. Hopefully, the addition of Bejarano will change that.

SIXTH RACE: 1. Relentless Heat, 2. Morning Fog, 3. Bench Points. LONG SHOT: Ballard Ruler.

Trainer Peter Eurton hasn’t won at the meet yet, but he’s a good trainer. RELENTLESS HEAT comes out of a key race and might be ready for big race today.

SEVENTH RACE (Graduation): 1. Testify Under Oath, 2. Moving Desert, 3. Gangnam Guy. LONG SHOT: Better Bet.

There doesn’t appear to be any world beaters in this race so why not go with a fresh face. TESTIFY UNDER OATH is a first-time starter for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, who wouldn’t run in this spot unless he thought he had a big shot.

EIGHTH RACE: 1. Tap Tap Ur It, 2. Athina Lee, 3. Flaxen Maiden. LONG SHOT: Huera Bonita.

TAP TAP UR IT has been on the track since May 27 at Hollywood Park but she comes out of a race that has produced four next out winners and she only finished five lengths behind the winner.
